I first met Cathy Rey, a woman with severe low back and bilateral leg pain, for a consultation about our DRX9000 Decompression Therapy on the eve of her scheduled low back surgery. She was originally a patient of Dr. Marks, a chiropractor, after being involved in an auto accident. She had been receiving chiropractic adjustments, electrical muscle stimulation with heat, ice and some neuromuscular re-education. The patient was also referred to a medical doctor where she was prescribed Percocet which interfered with her activities of daily living and caused her to walk around comatose all day. Later on, after having an MRI of her low back, it was discovered that Mrs. Rey had a herniated disc between L4 and L5. Another referral was made to a spine surgeon where Cathy received six epidural injections with some relief, but the pain kept returning and she was now scheduled for low back surgery.
Dr. Marks had given Cathy information about our DRX9000 non-surgical decompression therapy which Cathy was eager to learn about her options to surgery. After my consultation and examination, Cathy was deemed a candidate for this life saving therapy. Cathy is now nine visits in of her scheduled twenty decompression treatments. She is now over 90% improved. Cathy’s original severe low back pain and bilateral leg pain is now occasional mild low back pain without any leg pain and she feels and looks great. I have also taught Cathy daily stretching, and strengthening exercises. I’m happy to report Cathy is back to her activities of daily living. Cathy and I are both looking forward to her complete recovery.
